A 16-year-old woman identified as Sofiatou has stopped attending tailoring class and moved to her husband’s house after getting pregnant in Lagos State.
This was made known in a post shared on the Facebook page of one Olorunfunmi Adebajo.
Olorunfunmi, who is the Programmes Director at Kindle Africa Empowerment Initiative, said the young woman always sleeps in class.
She said the young woman was the one that translates Yoruba to Egun language for the other three students.
The programme director said she can’t continue her tailoring class with them because she has gone to her husband’s house.
Olorunfunmi said tradition also compels her to discontinue her apprenticeship because her health might not be able to go through the rigours of rowing a boat to class.
She further disclosed that the young woman lives on the water.
