The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have nabbed a 60-year-old man, Jeremiah Oyedoku, for allegedly caught having carnal knowledge of a nine-year-old in the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The suspect identified as Jeremiah Oyedoku was caught by the parents of the minor on Friday at about 5:30 pm.

The PUNCH reported that the suspect allegedly enticed the minor with #50 so he could have his way with her.

NSCDC State Public Relations Officer, Babawale Afolabi, confirmed the statement.

“Despite the campaign against rape and enlightenment by the corps, another case was reported to our divisional headquarters in Kaiama on Friday, May 28, 2021.

“It happened around 5.30pm, when Jeremiah Oyedokun, 60, of Ileloja Compound, Kaiama was caught in the act by the parents of a girl having carnal knowledge of their nine-year-old daughter from the same area.

“The suspect enticed the victim by giving her N50; the suspect confessed to the crime and the girl has been taken to the General Hospital, Kaiama, for proper medical test.”

Babawale said the case had been transferred to the state command headquarters in Ilorin for further investigation and prosecution, adding that the suspect would be charged to court after the judiciary workers’ strike.
