Motion Pictures Producers Association of Nigeria on Monday met with the Kannywood Women Association of Nigeria and Kano singer, Naziru M. Ahmad also known as Sarkin Waka, over allegations of sexual exploitation.
Recall that the Sarkin Waƙa had recently alleged that some filmmakers in Kannywood made sexual demands to actresses before assigning them roles in movies.
His allegation was said to have piqued female actresses under the umbrella of K-WAN, who released a statement giving him a three-day ultimatum to tender a public apology or face legal action in a shariah court for defamation of character.
Daily Trust reports that the emergency meeting was called by MOPPAN national leader, Dr Ahmad Sarari, in Kano to reconcile the two parties before the issue escalated to something worrisome.
In attendance were Naziru M. Ahmad; K-WAN leader, Hauwa A. Bello and the leader of Arewa Filmmakers Association of Nigeria, Sani Sule Katsina.
