This was confirmed in a statement issued by Kaduna Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan.

Aruwan disclosed that seven kidnapped persons were rescued in the process following a distress call by concerned members of the public.

He noted that the security forces who swiftly responded to the call engaged the bandits in a shootout, adding that the superior firepower of the troops forced the assailants to flee.

According to him, all the rescued victims have been reunited with their families.

The statement further said that Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i commended the security forces for their spirited efforts and speed of response.
