Seven motorists arrested as FRSC begins speed limit enforcement

At least seven motorists have been arrested by operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Osun State, for non-compliance with the use of the device in the state.
The PUNCH reported that the seven commercial vehicles have been impounded following the arrest on Monday.
This is as the FRSC commenced enforcement of the use of speed limit devices, especially by commercial vehicles, in order to curb road accidents and save the lives of passengers.
According to the Sector Commander, Paul Okpe, in a statement in Osogbo, the enforcement will not stop, as such, motorists should approach accredited vendors and install the device in their vehicles.
He said, “The Osun Sector Command will go tough on commercial vehicles without the speed limiting device.
“We impounded seven vehicles for violation of the speed limiting device. The total number of vehicles checked between December 29, 2021, and January 1, 2022, is 33.
“Seven vehicles out of those ones checked have installed the device. We are embarking on serious enforcement of the speed limiting device to reduce crashes.”
