While the police did not provide an official count of casualties, an unofficial source reported that seven people lost their lives during the attack.

DSP Ikenga revealed that the police received information about the attack and quickly responded, but the gunmen had already fled the scene.

He announced the full deployment of security operatives to Oba, emphasizing that surveillance operations were ongoing, though no arrests had been made at the time of his statement.

Oba, a growing suburban town near Onitsha, has a significant number of hospitality facilities and a thriving nightlife.

Unfortunately, this attack on Porsche Nightclub is not the first in the town. Months earlier, a popular native doctor, Akwa Okuko, was kidnapped by gunmen in his hotel and later released after the payment of ransom.
