Late on Tuesday, tensions escalated in the occupied West Bank after illegal Israeli settlers reportedly set fire to a Palestinian house and two vehicles in the village of Beit Iba, located in the Nablus governorate.
According to local sources cited by Anadolu, additional agricultural destruction also occurred in a nearby area where more than 150 olive trees were cut down.
Residents said the settlers originated from an outpost established on land belonging to Beit Amrin village. They allegedly moved toward the outskirts of Beit Iba, where they stormed the area and ignited a residential house along with two vehicles.
Community members attempted to intervene as the incident unfolded, the sources added.
In a separate development within the same governorate, settlers reportedly destroyed over 150 olive trees in the Khan and Wadi Ali areas, situated southeast of Al-Lubban al-Sharqiya village.
These incidents are part of a broader surge in settler-related violence across Nablus in recent days. Over the past three days alone, local reports indicate that approximately 34 dunams (3.4 hectares) of farmland in the al-Sahl area were bulldozed, while more than 500 olive and almond trees were uprooted.
The escalation in violence involving Israeli forces and settlers has intensified since the beginning of the war in Gaza in October 2023. Since then, more than 1,148 Palestinians have been killed, around 11,750 injured, and nearly 22,000 people arrested, according to reported figures.
