The wave of celebration following Senegal’s continental victory quickly extended beyond football into the national sphere.
In Dakar, the official reception held in honour of the 2025 African champions assumed the tone of a national homage, carrying a strong political signal to the triumphant delegation.
The victory over Morocco was presented as a symbol of excellence and shared national pride, earning recognition at the highest level of government.
Addressing the players and senior football administrators, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye unveiled a range of extraordinary rewards.
Each member of the national team, under the leadership of Pape Thiaw, is set to receive a personal bonus of 75 million CFA francs, in addition to a 1,500-square-metre plot of land on the Petite Côte.
The gesture was framed as a lasting acknowledgement of their historic sporting success.
The Senegalese Football Federation was also included in the presidential rewards, with each of its members allocated 50 million CFA francs and a 1,000-square-metre parcel of land.
Other members of the delegation are to benefit from significant bonuses and designated land as well.
In addition, a total of 305 million CFA francs has been earmarked for the Ministry of Sports to reward its staff.
The celebrations underscored how the sporting triumph was elevated into a broader state-backed commitment to national achievement.
