The lawmaker represents Abia South Senatorial District, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be unsuccessful in the 2027 general election, asserting that the president’s victory in the 2023 presidential poll was not legitimate.
The senator made the statement while commenting on recent political shifts and emerging alliances as Nigeria approaches its next election cycle.
He emphasized that opposition parties remain optimistic about challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress at the polls.
“Tinubu will lose in the 2027 election; he never won in 2023,” Abaribe stated.
“We are going to meet him in the field, and we will see how he will couple together that thing that will make him win again; it won’t work.”
His remarks come at a time of increasing political tension, party defections, and public debate about the robustness of Nigeria’s multiparty democracy.
