The Senate is set to convene its plenary at 1 pm to deliberate on and pass the 2024 budget today, Saturday, December 30.

Initially adjourned on Wednesday, December 21, 2023, until Friday, December 29, the plenary date was subsequently shifted to Saturday, December 30, at 10 am, as communicated by the Clerk to the Senate, Chinedu Akubueze.

The National Assembly’s leadership has underscored its commitment to passing the 2024 budget before the close of 2023, aligning with the Federal Government’s policy to adhere to the January – December budget cycle.

The succinct statement from Akubueze, titled “Plenary sitting to commence at 1 pm prompt,” states, “This is to kindly inform Distinguished Senators that the plenary sitting of the Senate, scheduled for Saturday, December 30th, 2023, will hold by 1 pm prompt.”
