Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, on Thursday, received the Country Director of World Bank, Mr Benmessaoud Rachid, at the government house in Ibadan.
The visit was made public on the Twitter handle of Abiola Ajimobi; @AAAjimobi few minutes ago.
The governor in the post wrote: I’m impressed by the position of the @WorldBank Country Director, Mr Rachid, on the need to work together with Oyo State for service delivery.
The governor during a meeting with Mr Rachid, expressed optimism that in the face of the current economic recession, agriculture can take Nigeria out of the economic doldrums.
He disclosed that the earlier collaborative efforts the state had with World Bank in agriculture, FADAMA, State AIDS Control Agency, and others are laudable.
Recall that three days ago, the governor in Ibadan while playing host to a 14-member World Bank delegation led by Mr Rachid, requested a review of the state’s working relationship with the World Bank.
Ajimobi said the review became imperative in order to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and timely execution of projects.
