Some of the residents blamed the construction company handling the uncompleted bridge along the Alagbole/Akute road for the flooding.

According to a motorist, who did not want his name to be mentioned, the blockage of the drainage canal by the Chinese construction company prevented the flood to flow into the Ogun water.
