Wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs Olufunso Amosun and some Nollywood stars on Tuesday began a campaign on cancer awareness walk and screening exercise for tertiary school students and women across the state.
Speaking to newsmen at the take off point of the cancer awareness walk in Abeokuta, Mrs Amosun challenged government at all levels, corporate organizations and individuals to stand up against breast and cervical cancer which have continued to pose serious public health issues in Nigeria.
She urged women to embrace healthy lifestyles in order to maintain good health, adding that cancer prevention and control should involve health education, as well as vaccinating girls before initiation to sexual activeness.
Some of the Nollywood stars at the event include, Kunle Afod, Toyin Aimakhu, Tayo Odueke and many others.
