The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Mshl Sadique Abubakar, on Friday, commissioned a building named after late WG CDR PJ Alabosun, the pilot of NAF C- 130H aircraft that crashed on September 26, 1992, at Ejigbo, Lagos State.
This was made known in the pictures that were shared on the Facebook page of Nigerian Air Force HQ few minutes ago.
Air Mshl Abubakar was reportedly received at the Military wing of the Murtala Mohammed airport by Commandant Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, Oshodi, AVM Ajibola Jekennu.
The Chief of the Air Staff and other senior officers like Air Officer Commanding Logistics Command, AVM IJ Yahaya were all present at the commissioning of the newly provided infrastructure on Sam Etnan Air Force Base, Ikeja, Lagos.
Recall that on September 26, 1992, a Nigerian Air Force Lockheed C-130H Hercules crashed three minutes after take-off from Lagos. All 158 people on board were killed, including 8 foreign nationals. The aircraft was taking off at a high weight when three engines failed.
