Few weeks ago, Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa state appointed a blind person, Hon. Liman Yunusa Usman as a Councillor.
The move was commended by all and sundry.
Stating his reasons for appointing Usman as a councillor in Lafia local government area, Almakura said the disabled have been stigmatized by both government and the public in policy formulations, inclusiveness and day to day social interaction.
Governor Al-Makura is in the news again. This time, for doing what many governors would not do.
On Sunday, August 21, was photographed evacuating refuse dump at Mararaba/Karu area,
during the commencement of evacuation of refuse dump to clean up the area.
Below is the photo:

We hope the people of Nasarawa will take a cue from the Gov. Al-Makura and begin to see the need to clean their environment.
