Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and his Kebbi State counterpart, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, on Wednesday, launched the much anticipated Lagos-Kebbi Rice christened ‘lake rice’ at the Lagos House in Ikeja.
This was made known in the post and pictures shared on the Facebook page of Lagos State Government.
Governor Ambode who lauded the partnership that culminated into the launch, disclosed that it was not only designed to ensure food security but to also display the ability of Nigeria to become a producing nation.
The elated Governor said the development was a great and historic moment for both states and Nigeria, especially as the rice would be sold at highly reduced price. He assured that the rice is fresh and safe for consumption.
The rice is currently being sold for N12,000 for 50kg bag, 6,000 for 25kg bag and 2,500 for 10kg bag.
