Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson, on Tuesday, empowered officials of the Nigeria Police Force operating in the state with four armoured personnel carriers (APCs).

This was made known in the pictures shared on the Facebook page of Henry Seriake Dickson some hours ago.

Governor Dickson reportedly invited the State Commissioner of Police, CP. Amba Asuquo, to government house, Yenagoa, and handed over the keys of four refurbished Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC’s) to him.

He said the gesture was part of efforts to assist the state police command in the fight against crime. He added that the move was the first of a series of support for the police as more vehicles will be provided to assist them to rid the state of criminal elements.

Dickson during the presentation warned criminally minded people to stay clear from the state, noting that his administration this year will spare nothing to ensure that the state is safe for business and other activities.

Governor Dickson also charged the Commissioner to ensure that the vehicles are put into proper use by his men and went ahead to announce plans by his government to acquire motorbikes to further enrich the patrol capacity of the command.

The Commissioner of Police thanked the governor for his benevolence, adding that it has further ‎demonstrated his commitment to maintain the existing peace in the state.

He assured the governor of the readiness of his men to fulfill the high expectations of people of the state and appeal for more support for the command.
