The former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, on Tuesday, visited the family of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
This was made known in the post and pictures shared on the Facebook page of Orji Uzor Kalu.
The former revered governor captioned the post: “Paying a courtesy visit to Nnamdi Kanu’s wife, parents and siblings at the palace of Eze sir. I. O. Kanu, (Egwu Ugwu 11 of Afaraukwu ancient city) Umuahia, Ibeku.”
Recall that Kanu who is a political activist based in the United Kingdom was arrested in Lagos on October 14, 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.
He has been held in prison since then despite various court orders that ruled for his release. He is a leading member of one of several Biafran separatist organizations, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and the director of London-based radio station Radio Biafra.
