See damages caused by windstorm in Northern Nigeria (photos)
Climate change is a taking its toll in Nigeria. Or in what other way could the damages done by flood and wind storm in parts of Nigeria recently be explained?
More than 90 houses were destroyed and 546 persons were displaced while two people were injured aftermath of the devastating windstorm that ravaged about eight communities in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Communities affected by the windstorm are Sara da Kanka, Kuka Tara, Layin Daji, Lungun Bugaje, Gumawa, Kofar Kyarawa, Tankin Ruwa and Kan Wuri in Maradun LGA, Zamafara state.
The incident which occurred in September was assessed by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Sokoto Operations office on Tuesday.
The assessment team was led by the agency’s head of operations, Mallam Suleiman Muhammad.
