Reports reaching us indicates that two suicide bomb attacks were foiled in Usmanti and Kaleri area of Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State in the early hours of this morning.
This was made known by officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) who were at the scene to evacuate the corpses.
It was reported that the first foiled attack took place at about 12:am, after a vigilant security operative sighted a suicide bomber who was targeting a security outpost in the area.
The security personnel reportedly opened fire and the suicide bomber exploded with his IED before executing his evil assignment.
The second foiled attack reportedly occurred at about 5:30am during morning prayer at a mosque. It was reported that two suicide bombers one female and male, tried to gain access to the mosque during prayer, but were noticed by the Civilian JTF stationed there.
The assailants which were strapped with IED reportedly blew off themselves when they were accosted by the Civilian JTF. A member of the Civilian JTF and the two suicide bombers reportedly lost their lives in the foiled attack, while two others sustained serious injuries.
