Security operatives rescue 18 kidnapped victims in Kebbi

Security operatives have successfully freed 18 individuals who were kidnapped from their homes on Wednesday in Kanya, Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Ahmed Idris, the media aide to Governor Nasir Idris, confirmed the rescue on Friday in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

According to Mr. Idris, the council chairman, Hussani Aliyu-Bena, conveyed the news of the victims’ safe return.

Aliyu-Bena explained that the victims were rescued at Karen Bena as their abductors were attempting to cross into Zamfara around 5:30 p.m.

He praised the efforts made by the Dr. Idris-led administration to safeguard the lives and property of Kebbi citizens.

Aliyu-Bena stated, “the financial assistance from the state government will certainly boost the morale of security personnel to protect the lives and property of people of the state.”

“In fact, many villagers have started returning to their homes and continued with their farming activities. Since four days ago, the army and the Nigeria Air Force have neutralized many bandits in the area.”
