Sean “Diddy” Combs’ anticipated release from federal prison has reportedly been pushed back after claims surfaced that the music mogul violated rules at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey.
According to updated information from the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Combs’ projected release date has shifted from May 8, 2028, to June 4, 2028 — nearly a month later.
The BOP has not issued a formal explanation for the change, but several media outlets have tied the delay to alleged misconduct by the incarcerated entertainment figure.
Reports from international news platforms claim Combs was disciplined for taking part in a prohibited three-way phone call and for consuming homemade alcohol inside the facility, both considered violations of federal prison regulations.
Representatives for the Bad Boy Records founder have pushed back against the allegations. They maintain that Combs has demonstrated good behaviour and has been committed to personal growth throughout his incarceration.
Combs was sentenced in early October 2025 to four years and two months behind bars after being convicted on two counts of transportation for the purpose of prostitution. His sentencing capped a wide-ranging federal probe into accusations of sex trafficking and racketeering, which had been under intense public scrutiny since late 2023.
The Bureau of Prisons has not confirmed whether the revised release date is directly related to any disciplinary measures.
