School proprietor rapes female corper day she resumed for primary assignment

The Delta State police command has arrested a school proprietor for allegedly raping a female member of the National Youth Service Corp [NYSC] in Delta.

WuzupNigeria gathered that the proprietor of Grace Life International School in Oghara-Efe, Ethiope East local government area of the state, Mr. Michael Anigholor, raped the corper posted to his school same day she resumed for her primary assignment.

The state commissioner of police, Mr Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa, who briefed journalists on Tuesday in Asaba, said that the corps member reported at the school for her primary assignment and after her documentation, the suspect who is the proprietor of the school took her to his house in Sapele and had carnal knowledge of her without her consent.

He said:

“That is the plight of our girl-child and youths in the hands of criminally-minded elements. The victim went to report at the school for her primary assignment. After her documentation, the suspect, who is the proprietor, took her to his house in Sapele under the disguise of rendering assistance and had carnal knowledge of her without her consent.”

Inuwa, who paraded 82 suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, gun manufacturers, hard drug dealers and cultists at the Command Headquarters in Asaba, said the command recovered 266 expended cartridges, 35 firearms, including some of the AK47 rifles were snatched from slain policemen, and 62 live ammunition.

He said Anigholor had been arraigned.

CP Inuwa further stated that two fake Naval officers, Owen Louis, 22, and Yusuf Rasheed, 26, were arrested in Warri while they were beating a fashion designer.

The CP said that following a quarrel between a tailoring apprentice attached to Jashet Aluma Fashion outfit, that the two fake officers were hired to beat up his boss who is the owner of the outfit and in the process, they were arrested by police patrol team attached to Warri Area command.

“Having received brief on the crime situation on my assumption of duty as Delta State commissioner of police, the command’s security architecture was reviewed with a view to repositioning its operations for optimal performance”.

“Between January 2nd this year and now, no fewer than 41 armed robbers, 8 kidnapping suspects, 16 cultists were arrested and 266 live expended cartridges were recovered.”

The Police Commissioner noted that efforts are being made to ensure that criminally minded herdsmen are chased out of the state, adding that the command will collaborate with all the stakeholders in the state to ensure that crime is reduced to the barest minimum.
