Jefferey Schlupp scores against Tottenham

Jeffrey Schlupp scored a late goal to deny Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham the chance to cement their lead at the top of the Premier League on Sunday night.

Harry Kane fired Spurs ahead in the first half from 30 yards out in front of 2,000 fans at Selhurst Park though he had his effort swerved in mid-air.

Palace’s keeper, Guaita pulled a brilliant double save in the 34th minute through pass from Kane into Bergwijn, as he rushed from his line to save at the feet of the Dutchman, before getting up quickly to block Ndombele’s rebound.

The home team missed a chance to go level in the 43rd minute when Eze’s shot beat Hugo Lloris but failed to find the back of the net as he was denied by the woodwork.

Scot Parker’s side missed another chance in the 70th minute when Christian Benteke headed a ball to Schlupp, but he slices the volley wide from close range.

Schlupp would later redeem himself in the 80th minute when Eze’s free-kick caused all kinds of problems, Lloris could only block and Schlupp pounced to steer home the loose ball.

Tottenham remain levelled on 25 points with Liverpool but stay on top of the table on goal difference.
