Saudi Arabia announced on Sunday morning that its air defense forces had successfully intercepted and destroyed 10 drones within the past few hours, according to an official statement from the Defense Ministry.
Authorities, however, did not specify the locations where the interceptions occurred.
Tensions across the region have continued to escalate following a joint offensive launched by Israel and the United States against Iran on Feb. 28.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in more than 1,340 deaths, including Iran’s then-Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
In response, Iran has carried out a series of drone and missile attacks aimed at Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and several Gulf nations hosting U.S. military installations.
These strikes have led to casualties, inflicted damage on key infrastructure, and triggered disruptions in global markets as well as international aviation.
