The trial of Senator Bukola Saraki has suffered another setback following the postponement of deliberation on the case due to the ongoing round table discussion involving CCT and other critical stakeholders within and outside the country.
The round table is set to develop the code of ethics and practice directions for the Code of Conduct Tribunal to ensure fair and speedy trials.
It is being sponsored by European Union (EU) and implemented by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, (UNODC).
The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) had earlier adjourned the case of Senate president, Bukola Saraki, till Wednesday, July 13.
The Chairman of the CCT, Danladi Yakubu Umar, on Tuesday, July 12, adjourned all sittings scheduled for this week.
This was disclosed in a press statement by Ibraheem Al-hassan, the head of press and public relations at the CCT headquarters.
He also adjourned cases that come within July and August till after the resumption from recess to be embarked by the Tribunal’s judges soon.
Umar added that the tribunal assured litigants currently with cases before the court, that their new dates will be communicated shortly accordingly after the vacation in September.
