As the race for the 2023 presidential election gathers momentum, residents of Ibadan, Oyo State capital woke up on Monday to behold the campaign posters of former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, pasted strategically across the ancient city .

The colourful posters have the former Kwara governor’s picture, PDP logo and his presidential slogan.

The posters read, “Let Nigeria work again and again. Abubakar Bukola Saraki for President 2023.”

A source disclosed that the posters were pasted on the walls of Ibadan on Sunday night to avoid courting attention.

Some of the strategic locations where the posters were pasted included Mokola, Roundabout, Uncle Joe and Adamasingba.

It is, however, not clear if the posters were printed by Saraki’s supporters or his campaign organisation in the state.

The former Senate president ruled Kwara State as governor between 2003 and 2011 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Saraki who defected from PDP to APC after ruling Kwara State for eight years, subsequently became Senate President between 2015 and 2019.

He later dumped APC and rejoined PDP during the buildup to the 2019 general elections.
