Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful, assuring that the nation’s current difficulties will ultimately lead to a more prosperous future.
The governor’s message was delivered on Friday by Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, Deputy Governor of Lagos State, during the Jumat Service held at the Lagos State Secretariat Community Central Mosque in Alausa, Ikeja.
The event formed part of activities commemorating Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day.
Speaking at the service, Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the country’s present challenges, including economic hardship, security concerns, and the urgent need for inclusive development.
He said these issues continue to test the nation’s resilience and collective strength.
According to him, “So humanity has not found out how to solve a lot of problems without pain.
As humans, we work on principles, especially in economics, and we must operate within those principles. When making tough decisions, you must look at what is beneficial to make sure that you do things that will ultimately be of advantage to the future of the country.”
The governor encouraged Nigerians to trust the process, stressing that while some reforms may be difficult in the short term, they are necessary for long-term national progress.
