Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu inaugurated a newly constructed mid-level food agro-hub located at Idi-Oro in the Mushin area of the state on Sunday.
The announcement was made by Jubril Gawat, the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, in a series of tweets on Sunday.
According to Gawat, the launch of the mid-level food agro-hub introduces a new approach to food distribution in Lagos, aiming to address issues such as post-harvest losses, inflation, carbon footprint, and traffic congestion.
The agro-hub, occupying 6400 square meters of land, features ample parking space (3,017 square meters) to accommodate trailers and vehicles. It also includes centralized wet and dry storage areas for bulk buying.
Gawat further mentioned that Governor Sanwo-Olu intends to replicate the agro-hub model in three other locations within the state. He stated, “For those asking, Governor of Lagos State, Mr #jidesanwoolu says 3 other places have been identified to replicate this newly constructed middle-level food Agro-hub, located at Idi-Oro in Mushin Local Government Area: Ajah, Agege, and Abule ado.”
