Mohammed Salah scored from the spot as Liverpool struggled to play a 1-1 draw against struggling Premier League side, Fulham.

Liverpool were put up an unconvincing display in the first half but they improved in the second half and were rewarded with a penalty.

De Cordova-Reid gave Fulham a deserved lead in the 25th minute with superb strike from 20 yards, beating Alisson who is only returning from injury.

Liverpool then suffered another injury blow when they withdrew Joel Matip with a back problem at the break.

However, with the time running out in the second half, Gini Wijnaldum’s free kick found the hand of a Fulham defender inside the box and the referee gave a penalty to the away team.

Salah stepped up and slotted the ball in the net in the 79th minute though

The result means the second-placed Merseysiders are behind Jose Mourinho’s Spurs on goal difference and welcome the Lilywhite to Anfield for a mouthwatering clash on Wednesday night. Fulham stay 17th and host Brighton next.

Liverpool have now dropped a total of 11 points away from Anfeild this season.
