As many as 19 people are feared to have lost their lives after a boat mishap in Apapa, Lagos state.

Multiple online reports claim that the death toll from the incident has risen as high as 19, while one person has been rescued.

In a video a middle-aged man can be seen giving thanks to God as he was rescued from the water.

The video also captured the moment rescuers were turned over the boat which sank, the boat was already empty at that time, with the passengers believed to have drowned in the water.
