Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is fit to return after three months out due to a hamstring injury, manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed.

Saka, who got injured during Arsenal’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace on December 21, underwent surgery and has now recovered.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s match against Fulham on Tuesday, Arteta said the 22-year-old is eager to play again.

“Bukayo Saka is ready to go,” Arteta said. “We have followed the right process and done everything carefully. Now it’s just about putting him on the pitch at the right time. But he is pushing because he really wants to play.”

Saka has been an important player for Arsenal this season, scoring nine goals and providing 10 assists in 24 games across all competitions.

“Bukayo is a massive weapon for us,” Arteta added. “We know how important he is to the team and how much he contributes to our success.”

Arsenal are currently second in the Premier League, 12 points behind leaders Liverpool with nine matches left in the season.

Meanwhile, defender Riccardo Calafiori is set for a spell on the sidelines after injuring his knee while playing for Italy against Germany on March 20.

“It could have been much worse,” Arteta said. “Hopefully, it will only take a few weeks, but we have to see how the injury develops.”

Arsenal’s new sporting director, Andrea Berta, was also present at the press conference after being named as Edu’s replacement. Arteta said Berta had many options from other clubs but chose to join Arsenal.
