Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of popular online news medium, Sahara Reporters, is finally back to his home after an initial face-off with the Police.
The radical journalist had been reportedly arrested by the police officers over claims that he threatened to kill another publisher over an issue they had in 2016.
Sowore was detained and released after the issue he had with the publisher, and was asked to report at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Panti, Yaba on Thursday, January 12 and he did.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, was said to have threatened to present a warrant of arrest to whisk the University of Lagos Alumnus away, but appeared before Sowore empty handed.
In a post he shared on his personal Facebook page, he wrote: “Quick Update: I was at the Nigeria Police State CID in Lagos prepared to face “charges” the Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni had promised he’d file today, they came up empty handed and I am now back on the beat!
“I will give a detailed position of the other intrigues later.”
