Russia’s Ministry of Defense has claimed that air defense systems intercepted drones across 11 regions and the Crimean Peninsula, with the highest number of incidents recorded in the Bryansk region and areas surrounding Moscow.
According to a statement released on Tuesday, the ministry said that Russian forces allegedly intercepted and destroyed 206 Ukrainian drones overnight, UNN reports.
Officials indicated that the largest share of drones — 62 — were reportedly downed over the Bryansk region. In the Moscow region, 43 drones were allegedly intercepted, with 40 of them said to have been heading toward the capital.
The ministry further stated that 28 drones were brought down over Krasnodar Krai, while 18 were intercepted over temporarily occupied Crimea. Another 12 drones were reportedly shot down in the Smolensk region.
Additionally, Russian authorities claimed that 12 drones were destroyed over the Sea of Azov, nine over the Kaluga region, eight in the Belgorod region, and six over the Rostov region.
Reports also indicated that four drones were allegedly intercepted in the Leningrad region, three in the Astrakhan region, and one over the Republic of Adygea.
