Iron Man and Avengers actress, Gwyneth Paltrow has named ‘rough boss’ Harvey Weinstein as one of the reasons she left acting.

The Golden Globe Award-winning actress made this known in an interview with SiriusXM’s Bruce Bozzi as she opens up about her time with the disgraced Hollywood producer.

Recall that Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for rape and sexual assault, with Paltrow, standing as one of the many actresses who testified against him in court.

“This wasn’t conscious at the time, but I started to feel, and, you know, frankly, I think part of my, part of the shine of acting wore off, you know, being in such intense public scrutiny, being a kid who’s like living every breakup on every headline,” Paltrow shared of her decision to show up less and less on the big screen.

“Like I’m such a homebody, you know, me, I like to be with my old friends and cook and squeeze my kids. Like I don’t want to be alone in a hotel room in Budapest for six weeks,” Paltrow also said. “Like, it’s just not who I am.”

She added, “So if you compound those things with the fact that like, you know, to be totally candid, I had a really rough boss for most of my movie career at Miramax… So you’re like, ‘I don’t know if this is really my calling.’ So I’m still trying to parse out what came from what, and you know, where, how my life changed course. But I think that stew is a big piece of it.”

JustJared reports that Paltrow worked with Weinstein at Miramax, which he co-founded in 1979 and starred in Emma and Shakespeare in Love, which she won an Oscar for.
