Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has broken her silence over online speculations surrounding her marriage to Olakunle Churchill, denying ever unfollowing him on social media and refuting claims that she snatched him from his ex-wife, Tonto Dikeh.
The drama began after Churchill reunited with Tonto Dikeh to celebrate their son, King Andre, who turned 10 on February 17. For the first time in nearly ten years since their separation, the former couple came together to take a family photo with their son. The reunion photo quickly went viral, generating widespread reactions.
As expected, online critics stormed Rosy’s page to accuse her of “snatching” Churchill from her former boss, Tonto, with some claiming that the love for their son rekindled the reconciliation. Fueling the rumours further, some users claimed Rosy had unfollowed her husband on Instagram, adding more heat to the trending story.
However, Rosy has now denied ever unfollowing Churchill. In a series of videos on her Instagram page, the mother of two dismissed the claims, saying she had no reason to do so. To back up her words, she shared her screen showing that they were still following each other.
“I have never unfollowed my husband and I never will. So, you guys are going to wait for a very long time. If I do eventually unfollow him, you will be the first to know because I am not that kind of person that will hide or play games,” she stated.
Rosy described the alleged unfollowing as either a technical glitch or a deliberate attempt by an “underground individual” to create drama and push a convenient story on the same day her husband reunited with his ex-wife for their son’s birthday.
Addressing concerns about any bad blood, Rosy maintained there was nothing wrong with her husband celebrating his son. She emphasised that it was only right for Churchill to be there for his child, especially after spending a long time apart.
“It is only right for me to give him that space to celebrate with his son. I am happy his children get to feel what it feels like to be with their daddy,” she said.
Rosy also refuted claims that she snatched Churchill from Tonto after the actress introduced them. She said contrary to the rumours, nothing like that happened, as she had no relationship with Tonto and met her husband separately.
Not done, she continued to rant over the false narratives about her, stating she is tired of being quiet. She noted how her haters always pick the wrong time to start their drama to create issues.
“I knew about the reunion and reconciliation even before it hit the Internet, and I have been 100% in support, so y’all rest. Time has passed, people have grown; no one has time to go back and forth over what won’t put food on the table. Let love lead, allow peace reign,” she stated.
Rosy married Churchill after his marriage to Tonto crashed. Since then, the couple have been subjected to criticisms. Tonto and Churchill married in 2015 but separated after two years, with Tonto citing domestic violence allegations, which Churchill publicly denied. In 2022, he issued her a cease-and-desist letter over alleged defamatory statements.
