Portugal and Al Nassr star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been named Middle East Player of the Year at the 2025 Globe Soccer Awards held in Dubai.
The award was presented on Sunday night at a ceremony attended by top football stars, club executives and global sports figures, further underlining Ronaldo’s lasting influence in world football.
Ronaldo, who has been playing in the Middle East since joining Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, was recognised for his performances, leadership and impact on football in the region.
Speaking on stage after receiving the award, the 40-year-old made it clear that his motivation remains strong despite his age and achievements.
“My goal is still to score goals, win more trophies and keep pushing myself to achieve new personal targets,” Ronaldo said.
He also made a bold statement about his long-term ambition, declaring that he is confident of reaching an unprecedented career milestone.
“I will reach 1,000 goals for sure, if I stay injury-free,” he said.
Ronaldo’s presence in the Middle East has helped boost the global profile of the region’s football, with increased attention on league competitiveness, attendance and commercial value.
The Globe Soccer Awards also celebrated excellence beyond football, with tennis legend Novak Djokovic receiving the Globe Sports Award, which was presented by Ronaldo himself.
