Rivers University expels three final year students for gang-raping colleague

No fewer than three students who were accused of gang-raping a student on campus have been expelled by the Rivers State College of Health Science and Management Technology.

The Nation reports that the affected students include Ferdinand Bruse Gospel, (EMT/17/096, Medical Technician), Chimgozirim Sunday (HIM/ 17/038, Health Information Management) and Nadum Sampson (DS/16/024, Dental Surgery Technician.

The Provost, Prof. Franklin Nlerum, said the expulsion of the three students followed due process as they were all given a fair hearing before the college decided to expel them.

However, one of the students, Chimgozirim Sunday, denied the allegation and accused the school management of violating their right to a fair hearing.
