The Rivers State Police Command has strongly denounced the violent assault on Goodluck Iheanachor, the Administrator of Ahoada-East Local Government Area, describing it as a “heinous” and “reprehensible” act.

In a statement released on Sunday, the command said the incident occurred on June 20, 2025, around 1:40 p.m., when approximately 30 hoodlums stormed the council secretariat.

During the attack, the perpetrators reportedly beat up Iheanachor, stole his mobile phones, forced him to sign a resignation letter, and made away with official and personal documents from his office.

Iheanachor is currently undergoing medical treatment for the injuries he sustained but is said to be in stable condition.
