The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has formally registered Governor Siminalayi Fubara as a member of the party.
In a photograph released by Tony Okocha, media aide to the state APC chairman, Fubara is seen placing his thumbprint in a book believed to be the party’s register.
The registration exercise was conducted at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday.
The development follows Governor Fubara’s announcement on Tuesday that he would be joining the APC.
He stated that his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC was made in the interest of the people of Rivers State and as an expression of gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, whom he credited as the reason he remains the Governor of the state.
