RIP! Popular Ajegunle musician, Alanta, is dead
Peter Alanta, a popular Ajegunle musician and the originator of Alanta Dance, is dead.
The singer died on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, after reportedly battling with an undisclosed illness for months.
Alanta shot into limelight in the early 2000s with his hit song, titled “Alanta.”
Confirming his demise, his colleague and friend, Kimi Rankin, lambasted his fans for abandoning him.
He said
“When Alanta was alive who cared? How many of us showed him, love?”
His friend and colleague, Baba Fryo, have also reacted to his death.
The “Denge Pose” crooner, called on musicians who benefited from the deceased’s intellectual work to ‘do something.’
He said,
“I just saw this post on Facebook that peter Aka Alanta the Originator of Alanta dance is dead, if it is true, those popular artistes who benefited from his creative work should do something.”
