Nigeria’s sprint queen Blessing Okagbare moments ago advanced to the semi final of the 200m at the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
Okagbare ran in lane 4 with a time of 22.77 to finish 1st in women’s 200m round 1 Heat 5.
Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith takes 2nd in 22.77 to join Okagbare to advance to the semi-final.
Cote d’Ivoire duo of Marie-Josee Ta Lou and Murielle Ahoure also qualified into the 200m semi-finals.
Unfortunately, Gina Bass of the Gambia finished 5th in 23.43.
Okagbare had on Sunday crashed out in the 100m semi-final as she placed 3rd in her heat with a time of 11.09seconds.
