Nigerian music star, Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz has lent his voice to the ongoing #RevolutionNow protests and the arrest of the convener Omoyele Sowore.
Sowore, the presidential candidate of the Africa Action Congress (AAC) in the February general elections, and his party had called for the revolution protests across the country to march against bad governance in the nation.
He was, however, arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services in his Lagos apartment in the early hours of Saturday.
Sowore’s arrest didn’t stop the commencement of the protest in Lagos and other parts of the country despite the heavy security agents deployed by the government to the venue of the protests to disperse the protesters.
Falz took to his verified Twitter handle on Monday night @falzthebahdguy and described the protests as a build-up of several years of neglect of the welfare of the people.

WuzupNaija reports that the Inspector General of Police Muhammed Adamu had declared the protest as a treasonable felony and an act of terrorism, warning that the police will not fold its arms to allow lawlessness to thrive.
But Falz, a legal practitioner turned entertainer, disagreed with the IGP, saying “organising a protest does not in any way amount to treason.”
The singer, therefore, called for the immediate release of Sowore.
He tweeted:
What we are facing is a build up of the several years of neglect of the welfare of our people. Our government’s constant disregard for the loss of lives of many Nigerians. Organizing a protest march does not in anyway amount to treason. #FreeSowore Immediately!
