The House of Representatives Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions has summoned the management teams of the Federal Cooperative College, Ibadan, and the Federal Cooperative College, Oji River, following their alleged failure to submit the 2024 and 2025 capital budgets.
In a statement issued by the Committee Clerk, Abubakar Sadiq, the committee directed the provosts of both institutions to appear before it on Thursday with all relevant documentation detailing expenditures for the stated years.
The session is scheduled to take place at 2:00 p.m. in Conference Room 028, New Building, House of Representatives, National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
“I am directed to remind you that the committee has not received your submissions on the above subject matter, and you did not appear before the committee on the day allotted to your agency,” the letter stated.
Sadiq stressed that the submission and appearance are vital for determining the colleges’ funding in the 2026 budget cycle.
“You are by this letter reminded that your appearance and submission of these vital documents will go a long way to determine your budgetary provisions for 2026 appropriations,” he said.
He further directed the provosts to appear with their respective directors of procurement and finance, warning that failure to comply with the invitation may negatively impact the consideration of the colleges’ 2026 budget.
“Prioritise full compliance with the legislative oversight process and cooperation with the committee,” the statement concluded.
