French Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennais have reportedly become the latest club interested in securing the signature of AIK youngster Zadok Yohanna during the summer transfer window.
According to Swedish transfer outlet Fotbolltransfers, via Expressen, Rennes are now showing strong interest in the highly-rated 18-year-old forward following his impressive performances in the Swedish top flight.
The Nigerian teenager has made a remarkable start to the current Allsvenskan season, recording two goals and three assists in seven matches. His form has drawn attention from clubs across Europe’s top five leagues.
Reports indicate that scouts and representatives from several leading European sides have attended recent AIK matches to closely monitor the youngster, with many left impressed by his performances.
There is also said to be growing international interest surrounding AIK this season, largely due to Zadok’s emergence as one of Sweden’s brightest young prospects.
AIK recruitment manager Miika Takkula had earlier acknowledged the widespread attention the teenager is attracting, confirming that multiple clubs from Europe’s elite divisions have already watched him in action.
Despite increasing speculation over a possible transfer, AIK remain in a favourable position in negotiations as the player is contracted to the club until the end of the 2029 campaign.
Meanwhile, the young forward is currently recovering from a thigh injury sustained during the opening half of AIK’s recent derby clash against Djurgården, and he is presently undergoing rehabilitation.
