Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians not to lose hope despite ongoing security challenges across parts of the country, assuring citizens that efforts are underway to restore peace and stability.

According to The Punch, Mrs Tinubu made the appeal during a women’s gathering held at the Ekitikete Pavilion in Ado Ekiti on May 30, 2026.

Speaking at the event, the First Lady reassured Nigerians that the Federal Government, security agencies, and international partners were working together to address insecurity and protect lives and property.

According to a statement from the Office of the First Lady, she expressed confidence that the country’s security challenges would be overcome through coordinated efforts and sustained government action.

Mrs Tinubu also said President Bola Tinubu remains committed to tackling insecurity across the country and urged citizens, particularly women, to remain hopeful and prayerful.

She further maintained that Nigeria remains a blessed nation and expressed optimism that the current challenges facing the country would soon be resolved.

Her remarks come amid growing concerns over insecurity in several parts of Nigeria, including incidents of kidnappings, attacks on communities, and violence affecting civilians in states such as Oyo, Benue, and Borno.

At the same event, the First Lady presented a N100 million Business Recapitalisation Grant to 2,000 women petty traders in Ekiti State to support small businesses and boost economic growth.

She also appealed to residents of the state to support Governor Biodun Oyebanji and vote for him in the forthcoming governorship election scheduled for June 20.

Mrs Tinubu thanked the people of Ekiti for their support for the governor’s administration and expressed confidence in the state’s continued development under his leadership.
