The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated 1,000 bags of 25kg rice to Christians in Bauchi State to support them during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The donation was made through the Christian Northern Nigeria Political Forum, CNNPF, and was distributed across the state on Saturday.

Speaking during the distribution exercise in Bauchi, the State Coordinator of the forum, Ayuba Dogara, said the rice would be fairly shared across the 20 local government areas of the state.

He explained that beneficiaries include members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, women and youth groups, associations and other vulnerable persons, noting that the support came at a crucial time.

“The rice will be equitably distributed across all the 20 local government areas so that everyone can feel the impact of this thoughtful gesture,” Dogara said.

He described the donation as timely, adding that it showed appreciation for members of the forum who had supported the country’s leadership even before the present administration came into office.

According to him, the gesture aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which promotes inclusion, compassion and equal opportunities for all Nigerians.

“The distribution of Christmas packages to Christian families across Northern Nigeria is a testament to the First Lady’s deep sense of empathy, commitment to national service, and moral leadership,” Dogara said.

He urged Nigerians to continue to live peacefully with one another, stressing that national development could only thrive in an atmosphere of unity, understanding and cooperation.

Dogara also advised local government coordinators to ensure that the items were distributed transparently, without discrimination or favouritism.

In his remarks, the APC Chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area, Istifanus Manasseh, praised President Tinubu’s leadership style, saying it reflects inclusiveness and concern for ordinary citizens.

A beneficiary, Bage Maitandu, thanked the First Lady for the support, describing the donation as a sign of care and encouragement during the festive season.

“This gesture gives us hope and shows that we are remembered,” he said, while pledging continued support for the Tinubu administration.
