Rema honoured by Boston mayor for promoting African culture

Popular Afrobeats singer, Rema, has received a certificate of recognition from the Mayor of Boston, United States, for his global impact and his efforts in promoting African music and culture.

The certificate praised Rema’s influence in spreading joy through his music and representing the African spirit to the world.

“In recognition of his global influence and ability to bring joy to people in Boston and beyond, we honor Rema for championing Afrobeat and promoting African culture worldwide,” the statement on the certificate read.

It also added, “His music resonates across continents while preserving the spirit of Africa. Both in Boston and beyond, Rema continues to inspire by proudly representing the richness of African identity and creativity. On behalf of the City of Boston, we extend our sincere congratulations.”

The Mayor did not only celebrate Rema’s music but also recognised his role as a cultural ambassador for Africa.

Rema, known for hit songs like Calm Down and Charm, is one of Nigeria’s most successful young music stars. His style of Afrobeats has gained fans across the world.
