Headies award winner, Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, to his fans has created a new music genre solely for his type of music.
The music artiste, on Sunday, announced on Twitter that his type of songs will be called Afrorave, a sub-genre of Afrobeats.
The announcement follows the improper categorization of his kind of music which many had claimed sounded like Indian songs.
The inability to correctly place his kind of sounds under any existing genre is said to be responsible for the improper categorization.
Rema further declared that his yet-to-be-released debut album on its release will seal the latest development.
He tweeted:
”My sound y’all called Indian, everybody doing it now.
“From this day my sound will be called “Afrorave” a sub-genre of Afrobeat, my Album seals this claim for good.”
