The founder of sports betting company, NairaBet, Otunba Akin Alabi has taken his time to school young men over what should be their priority in their life journey.

The philanthropist who is a member-elect of the House of Representatives is known as one of the major motivators on social media who takes his time to tutor young people on different topics ranging from business, entrepreneurship, relationship as well as politics.

He took to Twitter yesterday to advise young men to focus on how to work towards getting out of suffering and stop looking for a woman that would endure suffering with them.

His advice is coming on the heels of social media debates over whether it is right for a woman to endure hardship with her man or go with a man who is financially capable to meet her needs. While some women have argued that they cannot endure hardship with any man, some men have tagged them as materialistic and gold diggers.

Lending his voice to the debate, Alabi advised young men to stop dissipating too much energy into looking for a woman to join them in suffering, but to put their energy into searching for ways to better themselves first.

He wrote,

“Dear Young Men, The focus should not be looking for a woman that will share in your sufferings. The focus should be finding out ways and working towards getting out of the suffering, then find a woman to grow with.

“The point here is you need a new orientation. Stop putting too much energy into looking for a woman to join you in your suffering. Put all your energy into growing yourself financially, mentally, intellectually and every other positive way.

“When you get out of suffering and you can afford basic things like food, clothing and shelter, you can look for a woman to build with. I’m not suggesting you should be Rich first. I’m saying get out of suffering. You don’t even like yourself as you are, don’t add someone else.

“The energy on “woman matter” or “husband matter” is too much. That stage when you are still asking your mom for N500 transport fare is not the point when your energy should be on searching for a woman. Search on ways to better yourself first.”
